About Blooming Together
Blooming Together is a children’s book that tells the story of four flowers that begin as seeds blown by the violent storms of Africa to a garden in Johannesburg. Each of the seeds grows into a different flower. The flowers become confused about their different appearances and start to question why they all ended up in the same place. A wise, old grasshopper, Gabriel, who has traveled all over Africa, explains to the flowers why they all look different, while teaching them that their differences make the garden beautiful.
The Blooming Together classroom component will be distributed to over 10,000 students in the Foundation Phase (Grade 1–3) of over 350 South African schools nationally. This component consists of the Blooming Together children’s book and accompanying education materials to help teach the book within a classroom setting.
