Constitutional Rights in South Africa

This guide explains refugee and migrant rights in South African using straightforward, easy to understand language. It also illustrates the incredibly complex process of applying for asylum, applying for refugee status, and renewing that status within the Department of Home Affairs in South Africa. The guide includes a map of Johannesburg that indicates the various neighborhoods known to have a high population of refugees. Distribution partners include Médicines Sans Frontières, the African Center for Migration and Society at the University of the Witswatersrand and Jesuit Refugee Services.
